could cause the infant to choke. Adults should take samples for children. Children may choke
on the foam-tipped applicator or use improper collection technique if left unsupervised.
GenoFam™
Kits are not classified for use by the FDA as a 'medical device.' Our kits can be used for
identification and other purposes not intended for medical diagnostics. Medical
devices are regulated by the FDA.
Avoid
touching, sneezing, coughing, and breathing on the FTA ® Card. Although the chemicals
coating the FTA ® Card are nontoxic, do not place the card into the mouth. In addition, do
not place the foam-tipped applicator back into the mouth after applying it to the FTA ®
Card. The card is very sensitive and you could contaminate the sample area.
We cannot guarantee future DNA recovery. DNA recovery is dependent upon proper collection
technique, proper storage, sufficient cell material, and other uncontrollable biological and
physical factors.
