Producing Sun Ovens Locally

Document produced April, 2000

Global Sun Ovens is very good to work with companies in enabling them to produce the Sun Oven locally.

The way they work it is in order to provide a wholesale price of $--- per oven, they require a minimum up-front order of 250 ovens. However, it is more economical for shipping costs to order 400 ovens, which fit into a 40 foot shipping crate.

After the first shipment, they can send the second shipment unassembled, which drives the cost down even further. They can fit 1800 unassembled ovens in one 40 foot shipping crate.

However, in order to do this, they need to train someone from the target company in their facility in Illinois. Two weeks is the recommended training time, though they can do it in one week.

Also, for orders of 1000 ovens or more, they provide the assembling tooling free of charge. Otherwise, for an order of 500 ovens, for example, the tooling runs $---.

In order to gain an exclusive contract with Global Sun ovens for sales in an area, there are certain yearly minimums required.

It is possible to assemble the ovens without electricity. They have tooling for such circumstances.

When a company is able to produce everything locally, Sun Ovens asks only a $--- royalty per oven.

However, the two major defining aspects of the oven are the gasket and the reflectors. There are some companies who only buy the gasket from Global Sun Ovens and produce everything else themselves.

The anodized Aluminum reflectors are another defining aspect of the oven. There are only three factories in the world that produce anodized Aluminum. Two are in the U.S. and one is in England.

A company in India buys the Aluminum through Global Sun Ovens and then does all the stamping themselves.

I've attached a document describing these arrangements in a little bit more detail.

Let me know when we can take the next step and set you up with your first order.

Sincerely,

Sterling D. Allan
