The company is a major supplier of state-of-the-art Analytical Laboratory Instruments in Pakistan with branches in major cities. The company represents about 35 USA and European manufacturers exclusively. I joined them as Service Engineer in December 1996 and was promoted to the post of Service Manager after one year of service. In May 2000, I was also designated as Business Development Manager as an added assignment.

To ensure the smooth operation of the service department of Karachi city which is the largest customer base (consisting of about 350 customers) of the company in Pakistan.

To educate service engineers on the functioning of different instruments and their servicing procedures.

To train the clients on using a new instrument with particular emphasis to his application.

To install and commission new instruments at client’s site.

Worked as Chief Engineer from January 1993 to December 1996.

Job comprised of Repair and Maintenance of various Industrial Electronics Equipment some of which are mentioned below. Fault finding at component level ,desoldering of faulty components and replacement with new ones was done by me.:

Printed Circuit Boards for CNC lathes. There was no circuit diagram available for the boards. I traced the boards (fitted with about 50 digital Ics) and made a test jig for fault diagnosis.

Hard bearing balancing machine, of M/s Schenck Germany.

Fuel pump test bed for F - 7 aircraft for Pakistan Airforce, Karachi.

Electronic Dynamometer for balancing of truck engines-Mfr. M/s Schenck Germany.

Other instruments such as PLCs, temperature controller, Manometer, Knitting Machine Controller, Multi Channel Recorder, NC Lathe, Energy Efficiency Computer, etc.

CCTV Monitors, Switchers Distributors, Amplifiers, Power Supplies, Video Doorphones, and other equipment.

Also designed the following equipment according to client’s requirement:

Video distributor circuit, Video Amplifiers, Video Switcher.

Regulating Variable Power supply 0-30 volts 3Amps

0 - 200 ma current source.

4-20 ma current loop interface for an RPM meter.

I also installed a PC based STILL - IMAGE REMOTE SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM monitoring remote camera images on PC Screen over ordinary telephone line at Karachi & Lahore.

M/s Dynamics International (Pvt.) Limited.

Worked as Design Engineer from January 1992 to December 1992. Job included Development of various Microprocessor controlled and PC interfaced systems for Textile and other industries. I designed the following equipment:

Real time multiple/single loom rotation monitoring system for textile mlls - Two versions were designed -- a stand-alone unit for a single loom and PC based system for multiple looms. The stand alone unit was based on 8051 microcontroller. Proximity switches were used for measuring shaft revolutions. An innovative use of IC8079 keyboard/display controller was made in the multiple looms monitoring system where the proximity switches were arranged in a matrix fashion and were connected to 8079. A C language program was developed to measure and display the speeds on the PC monitor

Multi Channel RPM monitoring unit -- PC based, for rubber industries.

Electronic display and control for a Washing machine.

 

Worked as Design Engineer from January1988 to March1989. Job included Development of Microprocessor based PABX Systems using Z80 and 8051 microcontroller.

For programming the system, cross compilers and simulator software on PC were used. I also designed switch mode power supplies and uninterruptible power supplies for PABX

All the circuits designed were prototyped and debugged by me.

Worked as Assistant Engineer Electronics from May1983 to January1985. Job included Planning, Scheduling, and Preparation of Project Documents and Liaison with Contractors and Consultants.

Worked as Electronic Engineer from 1979 to 1980. Job included Design, Development, Prototyping and Debugging of various Industrial Electronic Equipment like Inverters, Alarm Annunciators, Numerical Controllers etc.

Conversant with all popular office software packages like Word, Excel, Netscape, Outlook Express, Acrobat, PowerPoint etc.

Conversant with BASIC and C programming.
